Mesh and Visa link crypto wallets to 175 million merchants

Mesh and Visa announced a partnership on Oct. 19, 2026, to let users spend crypto and stablecoin balances from participating wallet apps across Visa’s network of more than 175 million merchant locations.

  • 175 million-plus Visa merchant locations
  • More than 200 countries and territories
  • $14.2 trillion in Visa payments volume in fiscal 2025

Mesh said the partnership is designed to support in-store and online payments without users selling, transferring or preloading funds first. The merchant receives a standard payment. The announcement does not mean the service is already available at every Visa merchant.

According to Mesh’s announcement, a Visa payment credential would be set up behind the scenes. Mesh would coordinate funding and conversion from supported crypto, stablecoin or fiat balances.

How would payment work from a crypto wallet?

When a user pays, Mesh would arrange the transaction from a balance in a participating app and convert it as needed for payment. A Visa credential is a payment account identifier; the announcement says it would be provisioned in the background, rather than requiring a separate crypto card.

At a shop, the user would tap at a standard contactless terminal. Online, the payment would go through the usual checkout flow. Mesh says merchants would receive a standard payment and would not need new hardware or changes to checkout.

The arrangement leaves the conversion work with Mesh and the wallet or platform involved. Users would not have to cash out to a bank account or move funds onto a card before paying, according to the company.

Does the 175 million figure mean users can pay now?

No launch date or list of participating apps has been announced. The 175 million figure describes Visa’s network, while Mesh says initial availability, supported devices and participating platforms will be shared as rollout details are finalized.

The Block’s report also noted that those details were still pending. Mesh says platforms can connect through its service without building or running their own card program.

Which companies and balances are covered?

Mesh says the service is intended for participating digital wallets and platforms, and can draw from supported crypto, stablecoin and fiat balances. It did not identify which assets or apps will be available first.

The company says more than 200 enterprises already use its network and names Kalshi, Tools for Humanity, Félix Pago, MAJORITY and KAST among its enterprise partners. That does not confirm that those services will offer Visa spending at launch.

For now, the announcement sets out how the payment link is intended to work, while leaving the consumer rollout open. Until Mesh names participating platforms and availability dates, users cannot tell whether their wallet or preferred balance will be supported.
